Combat, Magic, CreativityWorking in a tabletop medium comes with its advantages and drawbacks. On one hand, you can quite literally make anything you imagine without the hassle of trying to figure out how to implement it effectively, but you have to design a system that's fun enough without the visual pizazz of digital works.
I designed the Arcana Blade Tabletop System with the intent to create a satisfying combat-focused system where players could have the flexibility to create any magical weapon-user they could think of -- anything from a glaive-wielding pyromancer to a stormcaller with a gun. |
Strengths and WeaknessesI'm most proud of Arcana Blade's character creation system. I managed to make it simple enough to understand, but variable enough for people to create any elemental warrior they could dream of.
The combat system, however, I'd like to completely overhaul. My intent was to allow for more creative actions each turn than simply "attack", but the system I went with isn't particularly satisfying. |
